Lavrik Olga Ivanovna
Starting in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology I published with my coworkers more than 170 publications in international and Russian journals. Main interest of my study was always functioning of complicated multisubunits enzymes interacting with nuclei acids. My laboratory strongly contributed to the study of the key enzymes of protein biosynthesis aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases. State Prize Winner and Komsomol Prize Winner awarded this set of the results. At the moment we switched mainly to study of DNA replication and our major point to develop and to apply highly specific chemical modification to study of DNA replicative machinery. My laboratory consists of 19 persons among them 5 PhD students and diploma students of Novosibirsk State University. We are doing collaboration with Institute of Jacques Monod (Paris), Institute Pasteur (Paris), National Institute Environmental Health Sciences (North Carolina ), University of Regensburg, Institute of Molecular Biotechnology in Jena and Centro de Biology Molecular Severo Ochoa (Madrid). My colleagues and I were invited to the International Congresses. I talked at the EMBO meetings and at Cold Spring Harbor meeting. From the beginning of 70s I am teaching in Novosibirsk State University
becoming Professor of Molecular Biology Department of this University. I was honoured as
George Soros Professor. My main passion is Science. However business trips open the opportunity to
visit great museums around the worlds and to enjoy by atmosphere of the cities and people
around. I like it very much. |
